I mean, everyone on STD was full of pointless angst though, that is one of the big problems with the show. It is like they saw that in DS9 the O'Brien Must Suffer episodes were fan faves, and turned every episode into one of those for everyone, without understanding why they worked so well. The Gay Doctor of STD got treated like crap, because STD was crap.
