Reddit's started going dark in protest of the planned changes and lmao I am in full support of this blackout but also my reddit addiction is not impressed at the forced detox we're gonna be going through these next few days.

I asked my co-mod if we should private ours but like...no admin has even heard of our tiny subreddit. But if any of our users mention it, I'll put it on private. Considering we get like...one post a day, no one will.

Yeah, there's a couple of really small ones that I follow that aren't going down. But most of mine are huge and all of those are. I figure, to show my support, I'm just going to avoid the site entirely. I'm following a few discords for the subs I follow, so I'll be able to keep up to date on what's going on with reddit that way.

Yeah, I won't be logging on any of my accounts. Which will be easy because even I don't go on my own subreddit some days. Lol.

I'm a member of a few tiny ones and I kind of scoffed when they said they were joining in because they get maybe a couple posts a week what impact to they really think they'll have? But then also every little bit helps and I fully support them.

I'm still astonished at how badly Reddit has handled this whole situation.

Even without lowering the API fees, it feels like just delaying the implementation and not communicating so completely poorly in every way would have solved 80% of the problem with the userbase.

Not accusing the apollo app creator of shit would've helped too. Especially since Apollo's creator recorded the call and posted it publicly to refute reddit's allegations. And the AMA the CEO did was just embarrassing. 14 cut and pasted responses that answered nothing. I honestly don't know what they're thinking.

I'm kiiinda thankful for it because I really need to take a break from reddit but at the same time, it's the place I get most of my info about what's going on in my city so that's kind of a bummer (also plants and cats! my plants and cats subreddits!).

I recently joined a daily sketching challenge (r/SketchDaily/) and I've been having a lot of fun so far, but the sub is going dark for a couple of days. I hope this forced detox will not compromise my commitment to the challenge. I really want to arrive to 100 days!

Aside for that, I REALLY NEED TO CUT OFF REDDIT LMAO I already blocked the site until Wednesday because I know that my addicted ass will check it first thing tomorrow morning. I don't even follow that many subs and almost every one is going dark, but it's better to just not log in at all at this point.

What changes are those?
