Not quite the same thing, but I will spend hours reading rec lists and following Suggested book links to add more books to my To Read lists, and then when I go to the library or decide to treat myself to buying a book I just stare at them all and can never decide what to go with.

I imagine aroaces in settings where hanahaki is real must be constantly paranoid about accidentally causing someone's death. And now that I think about it, everyone else as well. I don't think anyone could be easygoing in such a setting. Unless they're a psycopath.

Missing tourist submarine disappeared during the dive to the Titanic wreck off of Newfoundland 2-3 days ago. There hasn't been any contact since then and their oxygen will run out soon. (They go with around 96 hours of life support and basic emergency medical supplies.)

To add on to the above. The submarine can barely be called that. It was made with off the shelf parts from camping stores. They controlled it by using an OFF BRAND Logitech PlayStation controller. Not even a new model. One from 2010.

They had free will and made their own bad choices not to quit when they saw the game controller used as a steering device. They don't qualify as bystander, they are fellow award nominees.

Someone made fun of me because when washing dishes, I put the knives on the side of the sink instead of the water. And I wash them individually instead of throwing them all in the water. They were like, "Lol, are you afraid of knives?" Like yeah, no shit I am.

This is how I feel about Gary Oldman in The Hitman's Bodyguard. (Sue me - I like corny action movies). Everyone else in that movie knows they're in a Samuel L. Jackson/Ryan Reynolds vehicle, and Gary Oldman is in a completely different, serious drama about fucking ethnic cleansing. It's amazing.

Yeah, bystander qualification has to be for people completely incidental to the antics. Like if in five months this thing washes up on a beach in Ireland and a fisherman looks in it and dies of a horror induced heart attack, they are a bystander. Looking at a billionaires janky shit and saying "seems fine, getting paycheck" is not a bystander move.

I have five siblings close in age, I've been made fun of for a lot of dumb shit in my life. And I'm sure I've given it right back to them.

Same here. I bought some shit on sale and I'm not sure I'll ever even play it. With my luck the cloud will go down or all support for the games will end somehow. I've *just* pushed myself back into Tales of Vesperia (couldn't figure out the gameplay on the X-box knockoff controller at first, and it just made me want to murder something so I quit for 2 years). Meanwhile I've got tons of games I bought in the hopes of playing with a gamer group I later quit.

okay that info not being included in any of the regular national news stories is um. MASSIVELY BAD.

I assumed based on the lack of supplemental info that it was some sort of high-tech bathysphere, but if it's literally the opposite...go die in a watery grave you idiots I guess.
