What's been on your To Read/Watch/Play list the longest?

(Anonymous) 2023-06-21 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
For me it's probably the LotR books. Just haven't gotten around to them yet.

it’s so hubristic it’s almost a poetic example of billionaires being hoisted by their own petard

Uh, duh!! You don't put knives down in the soapy water where you can't see 'em.....
(And you put them all point-down in the drainer!)

:D

Ahaha, this is me with my Netflix queue.

Game of Thrones. But I've tried twice and I think they may not be for me.

This is me with craft projects and other hobbies, sigh.

Image hosts for fandomsecrets

I thought imgur was going to stop allowing hotlinking, posting images without an account, porn, and overall delete everything that's not linked to an account.

I notice people are still using it to host secrets. Should I still use it to submit my secret, or are there other services I should look into? If so, which ones?

Those of us who enjoy the hobby of maintaining lists need to step out of the shadows and proclaim that we love what we do. Maintaining lists is incredibly soothing! Nothing else gives you quite the same sense that you have created peace and order in this one little corner of the multiverse. There's no reason to hide where the real joy is and pretend that you're only doing it to facilitate actually reading/watching new things. We need a name for our hobby. Maybe Guardians Against Entropy.

When I first got glasses as a kid, I got called four-eyes... by the other kid in class who wore glasses.

In the UK we wear school uniforms but usually one day a half term we could pay £1 to wear our own clothes for a day, the money would always go to a local charity, so I would save my favourite clothes to wear for that day. One year on the last own clothes day of the year a few kids tried to make fun of me for ‘wearing the same clothes’ as if washing machines weren’t a thing. I replied as such and it was one of the few times I got to make my bullies look like idiots.

Because who on earth thinks wearing clothes more than once is weird or dumb? Lol, they were such weird losers tbh.

This is why hanahaki is one of my bulletproof squicks. The idea that people owe it to other people to fall in love with them is pure nightmare fuel for me. It's like Nice Guy/Gal thinking turned up to 25.

The clone wars 3D series. Got a lot of stuff to cover, and the anthology nature of the first seasons doesn't help.

The rest of Andor.

I have a "to-read" bookcase. There must be about sixty books in it. Last time I read something out of it was a couple of months ago.

*checks shelves* How did "The Fall of Gondolin" get there? I've read it! Good-oh, that's one I can remove from the tottering piles.

I'd love to see, like... the slow building horror of a friend-- not the love interest, but just a friend or a relative, like... putting together the puzzle pieces as someone tries to hide that they have it. But honestly, even though I don't go there, I'd probably read Hannibal manipulating people into falling for him so he can cook and eat them.

I already had a healthy degree of fear/respect for the ocean, but this is tipping me into full "NOPE NOPE NOPE" territory. What goes on in the ocean is none of my business! I am staying out of it.

i love the hitman's bodyguard too, it's hilarious and 100% agree with you about gary oldman. everyone else is so unserious and he's... mutherfucking gary oldman.

(Anonymous) 2023-06-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
i could see hannibal figuring out the precise circumstances and the precise personalities he needs to get to fall for him to get--idk--basil or something grow, just so the future victim would be pre-seasoned and everything.

I have a Goodreads list where I keep track of stuff I want to read; it's not really a TBR properly speaking, because I mostly keep it around as a source of inspiration for when I'm going on a book-buying rampage because I have a vacation coming up or something. I think the last thing I read from it was The Mountain In The Sea by Ray Nayler.

so you've read the script or how are you getting quotes and references? like do you mean you've only seen clips or you've genuinely never seen a scene of this movie?

Re: What's been on your To Read/Watch/Play list the longest?

(Anonymous) 2023-06-21 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not the longest because I have shit memory and I have a long list old media I want to consume someday, but:
Peaky Blinders.

I've wanted to check it out since the first season aired back in... 2013 omg. And i still haven't ahaha
It's on netflix, too, so it's not like it's a difficult series to start to watch.
But it's like idk. There... I will probably love it... But... Mmmmh? I don't know. I'll end up watching it in 2033.

(Anonymous) 2023-06-21 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Just keep in mind that the script was written by a man who was script editor for the Adam West Batman. If you're down with that, you'll enjoy it.

lol this show doesn't take brennan seriously, not even about how awful her father is, so there's no conflict with conservatives.

I have 240 items in my library "for later list" and 13 games in my "to be played" list on Steam. I've currently got two books from my library list, but they're not holding my attention, and I just finished AC: Odyssey and haven't decided which game I'm next in the mood for.
