I like all those characters too, but I also like the more complicated ones. They're interesting. JC in particular for all the reasons OP mentioned. He's not a hero, per se. But he's been through a lot of shit, and I think it'd be interesting to see more from his perspective.

You asked which characters I cared about, but really the secret was about being a protagonist. And I just want to clarify before someone comes in to try and accuse me of more stuff - I don't want LXC as a protagonist. I don't want Shizhui as a protagonist. And I don't want JC as a protagonist. LXC would be a political protagonist, which I personally would find boring. Shizhui is too good at finding perfect solutions, which I personally would find boring. And JC has the moral backbone of a cooked pasta noodle, which I find annoying.

Thank goodness there's fanfiction so people can write and read about all the things they find interesting and entertaining!
