I personally like JC, but I'm also more attached to CQL!JC and don't care as much about novel!JC. The fact that the Yunmeng trio love each other despite their terrible parents is a testament to how much they care about each other, but that only meant none of them knew how to love in a healthy way.

Also, there are plenty of people that like JC, so there's lots of room for you, just ignore people who can't let other people enjoy things. There's really only four characters that are written off completely by everyone, and that's Wen Ruohan, Wen Chao, Jin Guangshan, and Jin Zixun. The common thread for all of them is that they spent their entire lives steeped in power and priveldge, and still hurt people for the fun of it. JC doesn't fall under that category, though not everyone can overlook what he did do wrong.
