Hahaha that was me over the weekend on two threads. Named users commenting even after the new post went up but they wouldn’t answer my direct questions. I suspect in both cases it was because they were full of shit and didn’t like getting called on it.

That's why I always add my own story in an extra reply when doing threads like this. First the question, then my own answer separately in a reply. This way people can react separately.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is this in reference to? Other people seem to get it, and it seems like it should be simple to get. But I feel like I’m missing something, like context or an example, or something.

It's because the OP of this threat put but their general question ("Silly things that bother you" and their own silly thing that bothers them (the Maine thing) in the opening post and people are reacting to the Maine thing instead of answering the "What's the silly thing that bothers you" question.
