I don’t think most people who don’t have history with usenet would want to go to something that old, if they’re not even going to LJ or DW in large numbers. I wish that was different. I’d love to be proven wrong.

Especially usenet, and this is petty, because several times I’ve seen people on Twitter use how far back Google catalogs something as some kind of gotcha. As if nothing exists on the internet prior to Web 2.0.

I love the Discworld Discord I'm on. At this point, I rarely discuss anything related to Discworld itself, but there's ALWAYS something nerdy-- recs for other media, discussion of hobbies, science talk, etc...
