Someone posted a screenshot of some group (Anonymous Sudan?) saying they did it because AO3 is an American company and because it hosts "horrible" smut and LGBTQ+ stuff. But people are second guessing bigots who are also politically correct enough to use LGBTQ+.

Yeah. Wouldn't put it past fuckwits on the right to do something like that and try to pin it on "offended PoC" and screw up the terms. If it really was a DDoS instead of some mundane error, that is. I guess we still don't know.
