It's rare for things to freak me out...

(Anonymous) 2023-07-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
But this video of these AIbots at a UN press conference are really wigging me out.

https://youtu.be/m9IN14e-PLk?t=1286

Also, yeah it's not at all skeevy that most of these middle aged dudes made their bots look like young women. 🤢

Oh man, that sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi movie! Those AIbots are like, taking over the world or something, right? 🤖😱

YES. Every fucking time, it's either a weird doggy/military robot machine, or it's like a YOUNG GIRL. Freaking creepers.

You know, I’ve always told myself that I would treat robots as equals and show no discrimination when/if they became advanced enough. And that’s still true. But judging from how this video made me feel, I’ll still feel creeped out, and they’ll probably be able to tell.

At least these are still primitive AIbots.

If middle aged women could have AI bots and not be judged for it, they'd make them look like young men. I know I'm not going to find people my own age more attractive than people in their 20's when I'm going gray.

I guess it's hard for me to see why I'd want one. I'd rather have a real relationship than chatGPT dressed up to look like someone 20 years younger yhan me.

Dunno I find men my own age or older more attractive. Yes, it includes gray hair, boldness and not so perfect bodies. Also wrinkles are attractive af!
And I reeeeaaaallly wouldn't prefer uncanny valley hell. That's just creepy. So speak for yourself

Nope

Speaking as a middle aged woman, no. The older I get the more people in their 20s look like children. I'd much rather have a companion my own age.

I know, right?
I don't really see difference between teenagers and young adults at this point. I can tell some of them have visually pleasing features. But they are all way too young

Same. Women younger than 25 that look their age now all look like teenagers to me and I'm not attracted in the slightest to them. And I'm only in my early 30s.

I rarely found people in their 20s attractive when *I* was in my 20s... Gimme the silver foxes. Younger Helen Mirren, eh. Current Helen Mirren, yes please!!

Yeah, I've always found men older than me more attractive, sometimes even significantly older, and I was actually startled recently to think an actor was cute who's ~3 years younger than me. Young enough to be my kids if I had them? No thanks.

Finding young people attractive never goes beyond a shallow appreciation of their youth, but often I find it relates mostly to me yearning for my own youth. And it's so fucking weird to manifest it onto a human being that I don't know how some people just want that forever?

Wow, so many people here who buy into age gaps between adults being pedo adjacent. Guess those of us who look 20 years younger than our age are screwed according to you unless we want to date a pedo.

But seriously, as long as you're all adults, there's nothing more correct or moral about being attracted to people your age instead of people who are significantly younger than you. Get off your high horses. What happened to the time when a 20 year old anon came here wringing her hands because she suspected her mom was having sexy thoughts about anon's attractive 20 year old guy friend and got a well-deserved "Oh honey, bless your heart for thinking she wouldn't" from all the proud dirty old ladies here? Where have they all gone?

You are reading SO much into the person you're replying to? They didn't judge anyone ELSE'S relationship, they gave their own personal preference/perception.

I think there are very mutually satisfying and loving, respectful, EQUAL relationships with wide age gaps out there. I'm at the age where I could just as easily be the older or the younger party in such a relationship, but men a decade older than I am are HOT and men a decade younger than I am feel... you know, put 'em back in the oven and let 'em finish cooking, you know? Unless he's going grey before the age of 25, I'm not into it.

Yeah that's creepy as heck. It's just creepy on its own, but then the whole fact that they are all female and 'young' looking adds to the disturbing levels. That one shot of the dude holding the robots hand? Really weirded me out.

I still would pay Your Favorite Martian a cool million to do running commentary on this conference.

Then I could laugh a bit about being creeped out.
