I completely do not understand writing fic solely for people to fawn over it. Like I get that that is a bonus for a lot of people, but as the only reason you do it? That's wild to me.

As a reader I love the kudos button. I rarely comment on fic (I've had very bad experiences with authors complaining about types of comments and it's made me a little paranoid) but I love that I can send some kind of 'feedback' that I liked the fic by clicking a little button and sending them a little virtual kudos.
