It's not because they dislike kudos. It's because they took the occasion to attempt to shame people for not leaving them more comments.

Pretty sure if the secret just consisted of "kudos stress me out and I wish there was a way to block them," they would have gotten much friendlier, more helpful replies.

(Sorry about the double-post. First I got a cloudflare error, and then what I wrote showed up twice.)

Well I've been on here long enough to know how sensitive people get about not commenting. All we can do is get the popcorn and read the shitstorm.

I'd half agree, but the ones that seem like they're trying to roll a boulder uphill and shrieking about its being so hard are the people who go to a site where no one is obligated to comment and feel gypped by the amount (or lack) of comments they get.

While I think a lot of the rest of us went, "this is an archive where my work - and everyone else's - will not be censored by busybodies or deleted by corporations. I can download anything I want with the click of a button. I can invite everyone I know who writes for canons and doesn't have a safe place to keep their writing. We can socialize or not as we please. Having an account doesn't cost me a penny. And this is the most fine-grained search function I've seen anywhere. I have truly discovered paradise."
