Same but FB.

I’m happy for anyone that wants to see it but I personally can’t stand Nolan’s film style. He takes amazing stories and films gorgeous footage and then smushes it all together out of order because he think that’s what makes a smart film. No, it just makes a jumbled mess that I don’t feel like wasting 3 hours to sit through. I admit my saltiness is because I think Dunkirk would have been far more informative and more emotional if it had been screen in a linear format.

Dunkirk definitely made a lot more sense on subsequent viewings. I really hope he doesn’t do the same with Oppenheimer, because he was a fascinating person and I want to like the film.

I’m sorry, nonny, but sadly he did exactly that with Oppenheimer :( I never rewatched Dunkirk even though I knew it would be better on subsequent viewings. It’s hard for me to sit and watch anything and I’m just not the target audience for a film that requires multiple viewings to make narrative sense.

SA And I say this about Dunkirk as someone who knows far more than average about the real evacuation. I still had trouble following the film and I hated every second of it.

DA-- that's really interesting. I am also kind of obsessed with the Dunkirk evacuation and I saw Dunkirk in the theater eleven times. Would have made it an even dozen but I was busy one weekend. I loved that movie.

I enjoyed Inception, I guess, but I think that's the only film of his I liked at all. I didn't realise until later that those Batman films were his, and I did not like the first two at all (and didn't watch the third). He seems very into making a clever concept.

I don't know how you make a car chase with the fucking Batmobile boring, but Nolan found a way.
