Depends on who your obscure favs are, I guess. Like, Gin's probably not going to turn up to ruin any headcanon at this point (even though I really wanted him to meet the Straw hats again).

Which characters are your favs and what's your headcanon for them, OP?

but srsly tho I think you're okay. of all the obscure characters coming back, they fall into two camps: on one side, they have so much actual background that any headcanon would be wildly ooc for them, and on the other, they have so many unknowns about them that if they do resurface with fresh canon details it'll joss every headcanon regardless of plausbility. embrace it. love it. slap your fellow fans on the back and agree "we were all wrong."

and then join together and point and laugh at the hardcore theorists who have been wrong about every "so and so will join the crew!" since the timeskip.

IIRC she was pretty cool. I liked her partnership with Jonathan way better than the later series with Jonathan and his wife. That had a really weird vibe and to this day I don't know if it was purposeful or not but it seemed like they hated each other for... reasons? Jonathan seemed depressed as hell and his wife had nothing but contempt for his crime solving. It's like they decided to completely rewrite the main characters.

I don't think famous figures coming forth about abuse in their past are asking you to "feel sorry" for them so much as they are often coming forth so that others who aren't famous can tell their own truths as well. That's the impression I get in his case.

I do. I empathize with most people who have been abused, have been bullied, struggled with addiction, and/or struggled with mental health (if they use any of those as an excuse to hurt others, that makes it more difficult for me).

I'd actually be interested in the motivations for this secret. Like you don't feel sorry for him because you think he deserved the abuse? Or you think he's a shitty person? Or he's successful so whatever he went through was worth it? Or maybe it has nothing to do with the abuse at all! I have no idea. I'm struggling to figure out where this comes from and really what you mean.
