This is something I haven't come across, maybe because I hardly ever read het, but it sounds really WTF. I enjoy anal IRL, and it's my wife's favorite way to have sex. About two knuckles in from the ring of muscle in the anus, curve your finger gently in a "come here" gesture, towards the front of the body. Just get yourself worked up and play with that slowly while masturbating whichever way you normally do. It's a different kind of orgasm. And pull the finger out gently when you're done. I think some women also like just circling a finger around the outside of the anus and playing more with touching the muscle, in and out, really shallowly, without making any concerted effort to push in farther. You do not need a prostate to enjoy anal sex.
