Weekend Plans

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I got my hair cut today. It is an undercut (purple) with long hair. Tomorrow, my sister wants me to help her move her living room around. Sunday, I'll drive home.

A lot of writers think romance needs to keep moving and changing, and the only way they can come up with to change is to backslide. I think romance can be stable in the background when the actual focus is fighting aliens or whatever.

I'm pretty sure romances have happened before in kids action adventure shows (and not just in anime or something), so it isn't weird to hope for that.

I feel bad about it, but I haven't watched this show because every picture of the Captain turns me off. He has a very slappable face.

Ahahaha. You haven't watched one of those 70 episode shows then? I have, and IMO they're not worth it. Too much filler. If a cdrama is over 40 episodes long, I give it the side-eye.

I remember when I first watched The Untamed, it seemed so... chaotic? But compared to other cdramas and taking into consideration that it's a novel adaptation, it's actually relatively streamlined with fewer pacing issues than some series, IMO.

Honestly I think this is an issue when a TV show that doesn't center or need a romance adds one. Shows that are built with romances being integral to them do things just fine imo, but when a crime drama or legal drama(or other mainly GEN shows) shove in a random romance because 'that's just how it works' then they are often phoned-in and badly written because they weren't integrated into the basic concept of the show.

Some shows that don't intend to have romances can be great however because it is first and foremost a writer issue and shows with romances intended can bungle them, but in my experience the ones created to feature romances work better than the ones that don't 80% of the time. And of course this differs depending on country as I have a much easier time with Korean romances than western ones because it won't get drawn out for 4 seasons so they don't need to keep adding ~drama to make it 'interesting'.

There are exceptions ofc because I have absolutely watched a K-drama and wondered why the fuck a romance was added at all because it was not needed.

Furniture shopping! Scouting a few furniture stores for a kitchen table and a couch.

And rearranging the garden. A few of the flowers I planted to help bring the pollinators to the veggies are sort of overtaking the veggies, so I plan to dig a few up and replant somewhere else and cross my fingers they survive!

The hair cut sounds nice! I loved having an undercut, but I hated the growing out process. And I am fickle and never stick with one haircut for long so I would always eventually want it to grow out.
