IDK I feel like part of the problem is that the lesser known mythologies are also much worse off in terms of the amount of sources and knowledge we have about them? And the ones that aren't, often are from living cultures where it's much more culturally delicate.

I'd like to see people be more original and I definitely have no interest in seeing more Greek mythology. But I get why it's hard to do other stuff.

being pagan this is how I feel when I research other mythologies. the only surviving lore we have for some is what was told by invaders who conquered them (the Spanish, the British, the Romans, the Vikings, etc.) or were written after Christianisation, so words or viewpoints that don’t match up are added in (Loki being literal Satan, thanks Snorri).
