being pagan this is how I feel when I research other mythologies. the only surviving lore we have for some is what was told by invaders who conquered them (the Spanish, the British, the Romans, the Vikings, etc.) or were written after Christianisation, so words or viewpoints that don’t match up are added in (Loki being literal Satan, thanks Snorri).
