Re: My fandom's new OT3 makes me feel...jealousy

Nah, I don't think it's parasocial/unhealthy necessarily, I just think we're all here with different tastes and different ways we respond to stuff that rubs us wrong.

I have a LOT of ships I'm heavily OTP about. Sometimes I see content for competing ships and scroll by without feeling bothered, other times I find it viscerally upsetting... you're not at fault for having a *feeling*, just for how you treat other fans.

So, like, I'm a big fan of A/B, where A/C and B/D are also popular ships. A/C upsets me deeply because of how I personally relate to A, but I have friends who multiship, and if they share a piece of A/C fanart or the like, I just scroll by as fast as I can. I would hate if B/D was endgame, but in my circles I don't see a *lot* of multishipping, and even the people I know who like ot3s that feature both B and D are of the opinion that it should be fanon fun rather than canon reality.

In another fandom, I've been deeply into A/C forever, and A/D is a very recent competing ship. A good friend likes both, I just have to remove myself from discussions of A/D entirely because something about it sets me off.

And in another fandom, B/D is my thing, but I'm not bothered by A/B and B/C and in fact the *long* list of ships B's in... and under the right circumstances I can enjoy some of them, but on some days I'll be in a mood where A/B just strikes me as WRONG and it's on me to step away from that content.
