Sexist *and* uncomfortably sexual in its depiction of underage characters!

The fuck did people want him to do? Punch a former president? Get into a screaming match and make himself a target for crazies?

Things you loved as a kid but hate now

Inspired by secret 5. What are things you loved as a kid that you really don't like now. Or maybe that you refuse to rewatch/reread now because you know you'd hate it.

Turn his back on him.

(Anonymous) 2023-07-25 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? Unless this is accompanied by trashing of other ships and harassing those who don't ship the same, I don't see how this is a bad thing in itself.

You're right. There is absolutely NO middle ground whatsoever between physically assaulting someone and schmoozing them with smiles and handshakes. None at all. Like, there's no such thing as turning around and walking away without interacting with a famous person in public. Secret Service agents would've tazed him, tackled him to the ground and then frog-marched his still-twitching, limp body up to Trump for a photo op. Guy Fieri had no choice, he's the real victim here.

Explain American things to a non American thread.

Most comedies, especially parodies. I tend to find them more cringy than funny nowadays.

I see in US shows and commercials people saying their phone number is [bunch of numbers] followed by an actual word. How does this actually work, I don't understand it. Can someone explain how, to pick an example from Scrubs, 555-"Call Turk" translates into a viable phone number? Please, like I am five?

Cringe comedy. I used to love cringe comedy, now I just feel the cringe but without the comedy.

So he is more a producer then.
