Re: Sinead O'Connor passed away.

Bullshit. I'm older than her, and even when I was a kid the joke was that the fastest way to get a girl pregnant was to dress her up as an altarboy. We all knew about what went on in those Girls Homes, Laundries, and Seminaries. Everyone knew. Even back then. It just wasn't the thing to say it out loud in any serious way. Sinead spoke up, used her platform, and got excoriated for it. But there was no putting that genie back in the bottle after it, she pulled out the first stone that brought the rotten edifice down.

Your reading comprehension needs some work.

No one knew that was what she was protesting. As you’re older than she, perhaps you’ll recall a little thing called The Troubles. Her protest and calling the pope evil was received as anti-Catholic, pro-British sentiment. Which is laughable based on what we know of her now but doesn’t change the fact it wasn’t clear to almost anyone at the time that she was protesting CSA within the Catholic Church.

You are the one who has trouble comprehending. I understood her message very well, her message was understood, what you are spouting is the propaganda that was leveled at her via the British press. I'd advise you to stop, and also perhaps read a bit more widely beyond Page 3.

…I’m one of the millions of Americans who saw the live broadcast and didn’t understand her protest LOL You understood it and so did some others but it was like two years before the masses knew what it was about. And that was only because she finally elaborated, which she had refused to do for a long time.
