After having for the first time the experience of reading a danmei’s human-made translation side-by-side with a machine translation I realize now that my issue with the genre may be the amateur translations much more than the novels themselves.

What the machine translation lacks in poetry and naming accuracy, it delivers in erotic tension. And really, at the end of the day, it’s all I care for.

Idk, maybe it depends on the novel but I've found MTLs to be brain-breakingly unreadable for the most part so if that turns you on... I guess?

AYRT - Far from claiming it’s ideal, but I find that reading both side by side might be better than just the human tl to capture the #feels of a scene.

My imagination is limited and doesn’t run wild on “this vague sentence means they want to fuck :D” honestly.
