!!! Fandom is ffxvi and there's a big spoiler for mid game. !!!

I usually hate the canon romances in Square Enix games (I still believe that Noctis/Lunafreya didn't make any sense when Ignis was right there. And the less said about Cloud and Tifa the better), but I really really hated both canon ships in ffxvi (Jill has barely any personality to speak of and I was really disappointed by Terrence/Dion) even though I loved the game.

I do believe that the popular alternative ships (Cid/Clive, Joshua/Dion) are much more interesting and I sort of shipped them myself when playing before the Bahamut boss fight.

However, once Clive and Joshua were reunited, the only ship I could truly ship was Joshua/Clive.

I don't usually have incest ships (except for Jaime/Cersei and Wincest) so it sort of came out of left field. Still, I was really surprised - and disappointed - that they were not the main ship on ao3 because their relationship was the most important one in the entire game so I assumed that I wouldn't be the only one that saw it in a more romantic light.

(Bonus: I do think it's hotter if Joshua tops, which is a bit weird for me because I have very rigid preferences for that kind of stuff and they tend to go the other way round.)
