Frankly, I checked out of SW after TFA (nothing pissed me off, it was just lack of interest), and I haven't really been invested in years. But I'm not so sure you can blame this on the fans. Sounds like all they did was express their opinions. Maybe if the writers had a better storyline they could believe in, they wouldn't have changed it to appease a disappointed fandom. (Or, idk, someone higher up who only cares about $$$?)

Besides, even if they went with their original storyline, there's no guarantee the outcome would have been better.

Literally anything would have been better than TROS.

TRoS at least had a plan for their own movie more than just shitty side quests and "subverting" anything. And Billy Dee. I'll forgive them anything for Billy Dee.

By, "subverting" you mean actually doing different things and not just repeating the OT? TROS was complete shit. TFA wasn't great, but it did a couple new things and was at its best when it did so. TLJ managed a decent balance of being Star Wars and being something new. Not perfect, certainly, but hands down the best of the sequels.

Stop repeating this like it's a fact. It's not. It also rehashed plenty on it's own.

It's a million times better than the haters think

(Anonymous) 2023-08-06 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
But not nearly as great as the stans say it is. Saying "it's the best" like it's a fact when it isn't is different from saying "it's not as bad as the haters say" and even that is an opinion, not a fact.

No it was one long shitty fetch quest instead.

DA

This. TRoS seemed more like a video game than a movie to me, honestly, where it was just a series of fetch quests. The only parts that worked for me were Rey and Kylo.

Would you please explain to me what the plan was? I watched the TROS documentary and have read interviews with Chris Terrio and JJ Abrams and I still have no idea what they were trying to convey.
