I haven't been able to rewatch Buffy since my dad passed. I really want to, but every time I start I'm reminded of my dad because of how much he and Giles have in common. It was always one of the reasons Giles was a favorite character. And now it is too painful to watch. It makes me sad. I hope I find the strength to watch it again soon.

Oh, wow, um... wow, I almost could have written this?

In my case, it's that Buffy was Our Thing, was my dad's big thing-- first the movie and then when the show came we would watch it every week. He WAS very Giles-ish in several ways, but The Body was the episode I particularly knew I couldn't face again after his stroke.
