... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice.

Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made. I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I get freaked out by Pharrell Williams "Happy". The chorus of women clapping and singing "Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy" makes me feel like they're circling around me with gleaming, toothy smiles painted on plastic faces while the walls close in and I genuinely get really panicked and upset.

It just sounds so... creepy.

(Spoilers for Resident Evil: Death Island movie and Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness)

I was so disappointed in how little Claire and Leon interacted in Death Island. I don’t even ship them; I just love them as friends. I think they maybe had two interactions the entire movie. Leon didn’t even seem all that upset when Claire was infected and possibly dying. Honestly all their appearances together since the Resident Evil 2 game have been disappointing. Even Infinite Darkness, which was advertised as them teaming up together, just had them interacting at the very beginning and the very end, and ended with them parting on bad terms (and don’t get my started on how Claire’s role was basically just damsel in distress). I realize these movies are silly and bad, and Death Island was just fan service to get all the main characters together, but I miss Leon and Claire’s friendship.

Most of the shows I enjoy involve people dealing with things that in the real world would at the very least leave them with PTSD, but in the show it’s just another Tuesday and they get on with their lives and the trauma is never addressed. A lot of fan fiction explores the aftermath of that trauma and how the characters deal with it, which is fine, but personally when it comes to fan fiction I really just want to read about the continuing adventures of my favorite characters (with maybe a bit of romance thrown in if there is a pair I ship). Even using filters and tags it gets exhausting combing through all the angst and darkness to find a plot driven story (especially since some authors tag for every little thing (i.e. “Character A/Character B-if you squint”). I realize this is petty, which is why it’s a secret.

I miss the old secret identity trope in modern He-Man and She-Ra shows. I know other people rage mightily about a lot of other stuff, but me? I enjoy the shows, but I do miss the inane excuses Adam and Adora came up with. I liked that aspect.

I don't know why so many Trek fans criticized the SNW/LD live-action crossover. In SNW we already had cadet Uhura, junior nurse Chapel, junior science officer Spock, and a couple of other OC junior officer MCs. SNW was already live action Lower Decks.

I hope in twenty years when the next Superhero Boom happens that whoever owns the rights to DC comics then isn't so up their asses about prestige and legacy (not to mention *ewww girl cooties*) and all that crap like they have been during this last one. The current superhero boom is over, and DC really missed the boat due to their own snobbery.

I'm usually a sucker for a good musical episode, but Strange New Worlds' musical episode just left me cold. I love musicals and I love Star Trek, but I don't love this. What is wrong with me?

I always think that the true "Chosen One" of Star Wars was Obi Wan. He really was the Platonic Ideal of a Jedi Knight.

I respect people's opinions less when they use annoying non-canon nicknames (not pet names) for characters-- often for characters who already go by nicknames in canon.

It's not a secret that I hate when fanfic uses nicknames no characters have ever used for each other, I think it's pretty reasonable to not enjoy reading fic where characters don't sound like themselves. But I do feel like a dick when someone makes a meta post using a fan nickname and I find myself discounting everything they say just because they would rather type three to five letters than ten just to get someone's full name down.

(but understanding why doesn't make it look any less wrong to me, sorry!)

There's honestly no worse feeling than being 99.99% sure that a creator intends for a non-straight ship to be canon but is being blocked on making it explicit by their producer/publishing company/production company, especially when the company has a history of doing exactly that.

It's 2023 FFS, let creators put gay ships in their works! People can deal with the concept of two men or two women being in love, and if they can't, then frankly I don't want them in the fandom anyway.

I wish there were more horror movies out there with no or at least very few jump scares. I just don't find jump scares that scary. Scary to me is psychological, messing with the characters and the audience. Jump scares are a lazy way to scare your audience and most of the time not actually particularly scary.

I really liked Eternals, and I'm sad it is so hated. Then again, I also really love Jupiter Ascending. I have a weird fascination with the plotline they have in common.

I feel like the reason we're getting so much repeat, so much focus on media that is either remakes of old favorites or set in the same universe over and over again is that this is what audiences actually want. People claim to want new things, but when we get new interesting media most of the time it doesn't make money. And audiences call anything different than what they are expecting bad. So of course the creators are sticking with old favorites. That's what sells.

I like the "live action" Disney movies. Not all of them, but enough of them that I think it is worth it that they are making them.

I haven't been able to rewatch Buffy since my dad passed. I really want to, but every time I start I'm reminded of my dad because of how much he and Giles have in common. It was always one of the reasons Giles was a favorite character. And now it is too painful to watch. It makes me sad. I hope I find the strength to watch it again soon.

I love that Valkyrie is bi. But I'm still bitter that we never got a canon romance with her and Thor. They have all the chemistry compared to the complete lack thereof between Thor and Jane.

I will be really annoyed if American Horror Story never brings back Michael Langdon. I'm a sucker for a villain who fully embraces the evil and hams it up. Especially one who looks that sexy while doing it.

The only Simpsons episodes I rewatch are Halloween episodes and Sideshow Bob episodes.
