It's not so crazy and/or dumb that someone, somewhere isn't saying it. But it's probably a vocal minority, like most batshit fandom things are.

Not OP but I just ran into this recently while browsing various fandom spaces on DW and reddit. Can't recall specifics other than on the ao3 subreddit. I was very confused by people saying they were boycotting ao3 and fandom in support of the strikes but waved it off as a couple of dummies liking the drama, then I started seeing it pop up other places with some (minority) support. Super weird.
