I feel this way about a lot of fandom slacktivists, especially the kind that focuses on telling other people how to be activists without doing anything themselves. This is just the latest in a long, long, long, long list.

This is the first time I'm hearing about anything like this, most fandom-chatter I see about the strikes are ones of support for the actors and writers taking part.

they aren't "fucking up the strike", but avoiding cosplaying and other fan activity around struck properties is clearly in line with the overall wishes of the unions and their desire to avoid promotion of those properties.

I haven't seen any of this, but that's because the majority of my fandom circles have either been youtube-based or really old fandoms because I've been too lazy to get into anything 'new'.

But I have seen people from my fandom circles point this out to people complaining about the strikes because, yeah - we have so much access to different kinds of media that not having anything 'new' to watch is barely a problem.

Sure it can be disappointing for having to wait longer - but its not the end of the world.
Also, seeing the list of all the movies that are 'now put on hold because of the strikes' being mostly sequels/prequels is hardly a bad thing - especially with marvel movies (and I say that as someone who is looking forward to Deadpool 3. Marvel have been churning out stuff too quickly for too long and at the price of over-worked special effects and CGI people who have been exploited to no ends in addition to underpaid actors & writers.)

I'll be honest with you, this movie could have been so much worse and I'd still love it for Jeff Goldblum... but Harvey deserved better, we're in agreement on that, I would have loved to have him stick around!

TBH, the artist's BS "we put a lot of thought into the voice cast" response tanked my interest a whole lot more effectively than the voices themselves.
