Recently the mega millions or something went above 1.5 billion dollars and... just wow, I can't even fathom that amount of money. I also don't play the lottery, which makes this a really silly daydream, but here's what I'd do:

1) Put most of the money into a family trust with money to pay for all my siblings/niblings' college educations, with smaller amounts for travel (because I think traveling is really important and a lot of people can't afford to do it), weddings, emergencies, that kind of thing.

2) Completely renovate my house inside and out, with a major overhaul of the landscaping. Permaculture paradise, here I come! Also a big gourmet kitchen because I love to cook/bake.

3) Go to the farmers market and buy at least one thing from every single booth, including the crafts. In fact, go on a buying spree of a bunch of handmade things from local artisans and Etsy, all the stuff I always admired but couldn't afford.

4) Start a small army of food trucks serving tasty dishes that aren't available in my area, for free, to whoever wants it.

5) Big yearly donation to the food pantry, women's shelter, Planned Parenthood, animal shelter/Humane Society and other charities I like.

6) Massive celebratory dinner where I rent out my favorite sushi bar and invite all my friends and family.

6) New car. Maybe one of those nifty hybrids.

7) Build a huge playground for my dog.

... and so much more. I would have a blast, because while money can't buy you happiness, it can buy you financial security and a ton of cool stuff. How about you? What weird and wild things would you do with that kind of money?

Spend some of it on wild hedonism, the rest I'd waste.

Buy my dream house in my city. Open a really good bakery and a really good diner nearby so I always have access to a really good bakery and really good diner.

Endow a bunch of tenured professorships, scholarships and other similar things at colleges around the country

Spend 6 months or a year just traveling around the world to everywhere I've wanted to go.

A nonny after my own heart! I think I'd do the same for every type of food that I like, just so I'd always have a place to get delicious meals or take out.

Lots of stuff for people with my illness.

Help women start up businesses with micro loans.

Travel.

Wildlife charities.

Honestly, for a long while I would just... do nothing. Quit my job. Rest. Eat food I like. Sleep in. Play video games. Take an afternoon nap with my wife and cat. Just... be able to breathe.

Same. I'd definitely quit my job and spend a lot of time just relaxing and sleeping in every single day.

buy my apt bldg, get it fixed up and evict this one asshole neighbor.

I'd set up trusts or saving accounts for my siblings, their kids and my 2 closest friends so that they can have access to money that can help them through life.

Move to a different state and buy a house there. Probably move to be closer to my best friend so I can visit him more.

Donate regularly towards programs for public education, helping underprivileged kids pay for higher education, adult education (especially helping adults learn how to read and/or get HS diplomas), and safe shelters/houses for LGBTQIA+ youths/people leaving abusive relationships.

Spend a few months traveling to places I've always wanted to go to.

Finally return to college and get a college degree.

Find some things to invest in for passive income so I can just relax and take it easy for the most part.

And then hopefully find a passion of some sort and get into it.

Create my own think tank

Go to the dentist and get all my teeth/jaw problems fixed. Go to the doctor and get all the tests and start medication for my various mental and physical ailments. Find a therapist and go regularly.

Pay off all my debt. Pay for my friends and family's debt. No student loan payme ts for any if us!

Buy a house for my dad. Buy land nextdoor and build a house for me. I've never owned property and I long to be able to garden and paint and renovate as the mood strikes without having to check in with anyone. I also desperately want chickens so I'd get me about 4 or 5 hens. Maybe a goat or two.

Travel.

Aside from obvious donations to causes , I'd probably spend an unreasonable amount on digital art models, once I got a place of my own.
