I haven't seen the remake, but as someone who was alive in the 80s with a little brother who wanted to watch anything with a car is it, and wanted an older sibling to watch too so he didn't have to be in the basement tv room alone.... That's not why he was driven out, and also the show lasted a long while after he left, and also panel shows have a natural lifespan where at some point the format and the personnel have been thoroughly explored and there's nothing new there and it's better to cancel the show than to turn into HIGNFY.

I have to agree when the fic sticks to canon-compliant genders and relationships.

But if the fic has a healthy amount of trans characters (at least one, and in a way that would piss jk off) then I feel safe around that author in that respect.

Petty grievances.

A local restaurant owner/chef in my town has a great reputation for being a good person. She tries to help out her community and I know for a fact that puts her money where her mouth is. But... times are tough for small businesses and she's running her very small restaurant almost single-handedly in terms of cooking. She's also very active on social media, so she makes weekly posts about her website, where you can order food online for pick up. This is both hot food AND freezer meal type things For months, I'd see it and think, cool, I'll check it out!

And each time it's the same, she's got a bunch of tasty stuff listed, that's 80% out of stock. This has been the same way, unchanging, for more than half a year. But she keeps posting to FB, trying to get people to order stuff and I'm just... make more food? Or take the out of stock items off your menu? Because at some point it doesn't make sense to try and drive traffic to your website when there's very little you can actually buy.

But I don't say anything because this community comes down HARD on anything that isn't gushingly supportive sunshine and rainbows.
