Does anyone ever get the feeling the universe is trying to tell you something?


I'm getting the impression I'm not supposed to see Barbie for some reason. Everytime I plan on seeing it something comes up.

Yeah, it keeps telling me that it would be better off if I didn't exist and that all my dreams will be ash. Fuck the universe, I'm going to keep on going anyway.

Yes, and that's when I get superstitious even though I don't actually believe in Amy higher power. *But just in case* I won't do whatever circumstances have prevented me from doing multiple times.

The universe doesn't impress me enough to get me to do something that I wasn't planning on doing though.

I'm usually not particularly superstitious, and while I do believe in a higher power, I don't think it works this way. But after 6 plans to watch fall through, part of me starts to wonder.

Ha. At this point I'd be worried about what would happen. Three times my mother wasn't feeling well, twice unexpected things came up, and this time I woke up with a flu. Maybe next time one of us ends up in the hospital.

I'm not supposed to see Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock.) The first time an airline folded after we'd booked tickets. The second time I got shingles. The third time - well, let's say there's family crap going on. Sigh. I'd really like to see the heart of the nation.

Found a Kennedy half-dollar (unusual in itself) and a dime in a parking lot the other day.

An interesting if showing-its-age drawing book I have called Thinking With a Pencil has a section where they use those two coins as a template to compare proportions of human heads (adult, proto-human like Neanderthal, child, infant)...

LOL, no. If the universe had any sort of consciousness and the desire to send people messages to alter the course of their lives, why would they give any fucks about what movie I saw over the weekend?

I thought so too, but then it turned out it was just that the friend who was really excited about going to see it a second time with me was trying to avoid admitting that when she went on opening night she hated it.

So maybe the universe (in the person of my friend) was actually telling me not to bother.
