Back in the height of Homestuck fandom, I was part of a private group that mostly did erotic roleplaying. We all were very good at respecting boundaries and keeping IC and OOC separate. Most of us identified as women.

Then a bunch of male fans found the group, and suddenly I was getting unsolicited dick pics, intrusive questions, and requests to rp sex "as ourselves rather than as our characters."

So the horse cock futa artist might very well have a point.

I've done that too with a mixed group that was mostly women (with a few cis and trans guys) and nobody was creepy. (It should be said that the guys were gay, though and didn't creep on the women obviously. All of the men were respectful towards everyone.)

I have heard of erotic roleplay women being creepy towards other women, though.

Some people are creepy.

da

Seems unfair to act like it's an all-guys thing, when there are men I'm entirely glad to share my fandoms with, but the people I've seen be gross about hoping they can get away with shit like "you roleplay sex, so that should mean you want sex - with me" have all been straight and male.

When you try to assure everyone that women are at least as bad, I just don't buy it. There's reasons people complain about unsolicited dick picks, and never "those damn lesbians who think everyone within DMing distance wants to see their vagina."

So it's your anecdotal evidence against ayrt's. Doesn't make it a universal fact. I've seen several RP/fandom communities blow up because female members turned out to be actual groomers/predators. It's likely not as many as straight guys, true, but women also get away with intrusive shit men would be severely side eyed for at least.

All anyone is going to bring to fandom secrets is what we've experienced. Belittling it for not being a scientific study of boundary violations in freestyle roleplay is trollish.

You say you know women are getting away with instrusive shit, but you're not commenting in a way that the rest of us can tell what you're talking about. Thanks to callout culture in fandom, "actual groomers and predators" can mean very little. Are you saying underage girls were manipulated into meeting with adult women to have sex, as a result of erotic roleplay, and if so, which communities "blew up" on account of this scandal?

(Anonymous) 2023-08-21 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
So you're coming at me for not giving you detailed sources on where these things happened while also whining I'm making it into a ~scientific study~ and not giving any sources for your own shit either.

But yes, women get away with stuff like explicit sexual roleplay with people they know are minors. Which has turned into them going for sexual info about their rp partners. Happened plenty of times, usually in discord channels. Haven't exactly saved all the deets for future use though, but I don't exactly care if you believe it or not, you're already convinced only men can be groomers anyway.

And clowns from Betelgeuse put chemicals in Starbucks coffee that make teenagers more suggestible to TikTok.

I’ve given exactly as many verifiable details for my scenario as you have, so it must be true.

If you’ve “seen multiple fandom communities” blow up, naming one (1) fandom community that was affected should be extremely easy for you to do.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-21 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, are you an idiot? Unlike you, I never doubted your claims, I just said that your experiences don't mean it's the only thing that happens. And you were the one demanding "proof" first so you would also be the one who has to provide proof first.
And I said multiple RP/fandom communities, which fuck if I still know the exact RP discords that were affected, there were several over the years and I only read about it after the fact. Some might have been Genshin Impact or a CN novel fandom, fuck if I remember.

DA

I had an underage person lie to me to get me to do explicit roleplay with them. That person identified as female at the time.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-21 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's also shitty, happens a lot unfortunately.

Unless she's extremely prolific and some sort of fandom-defining BNF, I don't think one person drawing horse cock futa is ever going to be enough to ruin a fandom.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-20 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
seems to me that the issue is that said person is complaining about the primary consumers of their particular niche of art coming in and consuming the art in their horny manly way. I know, not all horse cock futa art consumers are horny men but the percentage is uh, probably higher than the artist wants to admit.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-21 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT

That's about how it was seeming to me, too.

(Anonymous) 2023-08-20 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Is she upset because of the horny dudes' kinks and preferences or because of the horny dudes behavior towards other fans? Some male fans can be very um, unthinkingly entitled and expect everyone in the fandom space to cater to them, and get very pushy about it. They just assume that their tastes are, or should be, everyone else's tastes and that what they like is Normal (even when the things they like are actually pretty niche) and that anything else is some weird, outlier thing that only a few, weird people would like.

I.E. how most cisgendered, straight men behave about m/m slash in my experience.
