Packaged Ramen Eaters?

(Anonymous) 2023-09-07 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
What brand do you like and how much broth?

I used to love Shin Ramyun. But covid fucked up how it tastes. So now I just eat Maruchan with red flakes. :( I also drain most of the water off before adding the seasoning.

Nissin Raoh is so damn good.

Love Maruhan Chicken Flavor with a can of tuna and salsa verde.

I'll have to try and find it! I miss Shin Ramyun so much. :(

Maruchan is my number one for bricks of ramen, though I admit I love Nissin's Cup Noodle.

I don't use the little flavor packets, with the bricks-- I like doctoring it up by using broth (chicken or vegetable, depends on what I've got), and then some garlic, maybe green onion if I have those. Maybe a little ginger.

Maruchan bricks all the way! Ditch the seasoning packet and use literally anything else to season it. I cook it with chicken Better Than Bouillon then drain most of it off and grind a mix of pepper onto it. Soooo good! And it’s safe for my numerous food allergies (but the seasoning packets are deadly for me).

Shin Ramyun is my #1 standby; so good, so spicy, so cheap. Nissin are also very good (both Nissin Raoh and Nissin Demae) and also the Sapporo Ichiban are nice. I'll also usually throw in some frozen wontons with it, which I strongly recommend doing, it's great.

My current faves are Nongshim's spicy kimchi ramen and the red one, and I basically just follow the package directions. But I do add extra garlic and ginger simmered for about 10 minutes in the water before adding noodles, whatever protein I have on hand, a beaten egg and a small handful of baby spinach leaves at the end.

I don't think brands I use are going to say anything. But BROTH IS THE BEST!! MORE BROTH
That applies frankly for all soups I eat. I just love broth.
