Oh man, billy from Stranger Things. It wasn't even a *character arc*, he was just a racist douchebag with a last minute heroic sacrifice, and there was nothing compelling about him that made it emotionally impactful. Trying to lay in a sympathetic backstory just felt annoying because by that point... he wasn't just a jerk/bully who could come around, and he didn't only do horrible things while possessed, like his baseline was racist child-endangerer and at NO point did we see any remorse for any of that?

I just wish he had killed his abusive father when possessed. Especially since his father was shown hitting his mom. So it isn't like he wouldn't start abusing his new wife and kid.

I still would have hated him but at least it would have felt like a moment he earned even if it was being possessed that pushed him into it, you know?
