My mom turned me on to the Beatles by using their albums to teach me how to use the turntable and how to handle vinyl and such when I was a lil kid. It's something I appreciate more as I get older (I'm an elder millennial) even if I don't actively collect or listen to vinyl... though I might once I inherit my parents' collection.

My mom turned me hard off of David Bowie by playing him, loudly, in the central room of the house every day for a full year after his death. I have auditory processing issues where I feel panicky if I hear overlapping audio so I basically couldn't play video games or watch TV or listen to my own music during the day unless I wanted to be a sobbing ball of anxiety. And it was "very rude" of me to ask her to turn it down.
