I've pretty much always liked The Beach Boys because of my dad. And I feel like I knew about Julie Andrews from my mom way before I actually saw Sound of Music or Mary Poppins - my parents had vinyl records and my mom had some of her Broadway My Fair Lady and Camelot soundtracks plus the Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and her and Carol Burnette's Carnegie Hall show.

I cannot tell you how much I dislike the sound of The Threepenny Opera, like, it is what I would put under the dictionary definition of the word 'caterwaul'.
