Depends on how much money we're talking about here.

$1400 on Prada boots? Yeah, that's rich people shit. If I was going to be buying footwear like that I'd have to have so much money I just didn't care about a measly grand or two.

OTOH, footwear in the $200–$300 range is well worth it in my experience. The last two pairs of boots I bought from Zara barely got worn because they felt like garbage on my feet. The fact that they were real leather tricked me into thinking they might not be trash, but lol nope they were trash. By contrast, I got a $400 pair of Coach boots on sale for $200 and I've worn them heavily for five years now. I've had to re-heel them four times because I'm a hardcore heel-walker (I have to re-heel all my footwear constantly), but other than that they're barely showing their wear and they're so comfortable.
