(Anonymous) 2023-10-14 12:25 am (UTC)(link)My regressive spouse was whining about Hogwarts Legacy having a trans character and having “all this woke stuff shoved down my throat.” I pointed out nothing was being shoved down anyone’s throat, inclusion is about it being for more than just straight white dudes and sometimes straight white women with a single token black character for every POC of every race and gender to identify with.
We rarely talk about issues like that because we started in the midsole and then went to opposite ends of the spectrum over the years. We’re both ashamed of each other’s social views and combined with some other ways we’ve grown apart, I honestly think we’ll end up divorced within the next few years. And I’m kinda looking forward to it because I honestly hate people who want all western media to go back to just being about straight white people.

(Anonymous) 2023-10-14 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)Because I can’t afford to just yet. I started to go through it two years ago and found myself without any support. I’d have to give up my pets and enter into an 18-36 month waiting period for housing assistance.
Or I could put up with him for a few more years while I build individual credit and bolster my skills so that I’m not destitute when we divorce. And, morbid as it sounds, our first dog will likely pass away during that time solving the emotional and logistical issues of pet custody. That pet is our child and it would be cruel for either of us to keep him away from the other, both cruel to each other and our dog. Our other pets aren’t so complicated emotionally or otherwise. Oh and our first dog is special needs and if we’d divorced already, neither of us could have afforded the lifesaving treatment he needed last December, which would have made the heartbreak in my family so much worse.
