All the book purists in my life loved the movies. Of course they had some criticisms and a few things theyd change but overall they were all thrilled. I suppose there will always be a crowd that isn't happy so I shouldn't be surprised, yet here I am. Lol

(All this from someone who never read the books, just surrounded by those who love them.)

I'm a LOTR book purist (as is my father) and we both adored the movies. Were they 100% perfect? No. Were they about as close to it as you could get when adapting the books into film form? Yes.

Tbf just couple of weeks ago I've managed to witness book purist VS movies fan fight. That was so weird.
I do not exactly care for both of them. And I am actually this heathen who liked enough Hobbit movies. So it was entertaining.
