I’ve never had the same issue simply because I don’t pay any attention to Gwyneth even when she’s in the news or a fandom discussion topic.

It's weird because I can get why you feel like this, gywneth does that extremely naturalistic type of acting where it doesn't feel like she's being thoughtful or trying to distinguish her character from herself in any way, but pepper's background and general stressed "i have had to work to survive before all this" vibe is so far from gywneth that i've never had this problem.

I want to like Pepper the character but the movie series doesn't give her much agency or inner life after IM3. But Gwyneth is beautiful and serene in that role, so I just use her for images and appreciate every author who gives her depth.

I feel you. It's not Pepper-specific, it's just hard to watch a movie with Gwyneth Paltrow and actually see her character and not just her. She's not the kind of actor who disappears into roles and her own public persona is so... difficult to avoid learning things I didn't want to know about?
