I don't know how tall I thought Rob Thomas (the musician, not the producer) was, but it wasn't 5'8". I just watched an Aviation Gin ad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dsWl2DuUNo) and he was next to Ryan Reynolds. The height difference was startling to me.

On the flip side, I used to read a lot of Michael Crichton, and until last year I didn’t know he was 6’9”. Saw a picture from I think the Jurassic Park movie premiere, and he was just towering over everybody. As someone who is 5’2”, I’m easily impressed by tall people, but damn that’s some height!!

I didn't realize how short Robert Reich was. (I didn't pay much attention during the Clinton era.)
