(Anonymous) 2023-11-22 12:24 am (UTC)(link)I think it later got explained out that Rogers meant they never would define the relationship because it would kill whatever the viewer wants it to be. That when he said they were an OT3 he meant bonded for life and would always be involved with each other. Not that they would be poly. One could argue they wrote a great queerplatonic relationship by accident.

As someone who is aroace, I absolutely saw the 'we'll get robot bodies for all of us and spend eternity together' as confirmation that the OT3 is canon. I got confused that it clearly does not work for most fans and while I would never speculate on someone's sexuality, the thought crossed my mind that Rogers might skew aroace too, since I honestly don't think he was baiting and instead he clearly thought that this was indeed enough of a confirmation. So, yeah, great queerplatonic relationship indeed.
