I haven’t been in that many fandoms, but I know two things: every single My Hero Academia fic finds a way to get rid of or neutralize Mineta, and every single Big Hero 6 fic finds a way to keep Tadashi around.

Nicest I’ve ever seen a fic been to Mineta: the teachers investigated him being “hypersexual with no known cause,” and then his aunt went to prison and he started on the road to getting better. It’s an elegant approach to a one-note character.
