yeah, being a socialite is interestingly enough far more easy to fake now than it would be when bond was created when part of the job is your class credentials (which isn't solely money and 100% includes your family and friends). some spies were recruited from the upper class for this reason, because you have such easy and expected access to power of various sorts. also because intelligence agencies don't necessarily want to hand you ready cash and it's easier for you to fund yourself with less suspicion (and amazingly easier for you to internationally travel even during active war).
