They are attempting to win back the crowd that got pissed off by Moffat and Chibbers, but without undoing any of the shit Chibbers and Moffie did that pissed them off. So that is doomed to failure on that score, but they are recalling stuff from the non Chibnall era that means the both of the Chibbers fans are gonna be pissed off at the reminder that Doctor Who was anything other than that, so doomed on that score too.
