That's not really a fair comparison, since we went from the first flight to space flight in 60 years. The better comparison would be, oh, any 200 year span before 1900. Would someone from the 1400s think it had been a long time when dropped unceremoniously into the 1600s? No. Hell, someone from the 1600 bce probably wouldn't even really notice if they were moved to the 1400s bce.

This! And I’ve never read any SFF set in a world/time of rapid change. The status quo is that the story takes place long before or after all of that.

Depends where you were when you were dropped, I suppose. If you were in what is now the UK, for example, you'd probably be very confused by the fairly substantial shift in the language. The urban sprawl in London and other major cities might be a bit of a shock as well, although the resurgence of Plague would probably add a note of familiarity.
