Also, I feel you. Im always obsessing over the background or side characters.

I'm with you.

A couple of my absolute faves are side characters, one of whom only existed to deliver some plot-important stuff and then die...

Sometimes a side character at least gets popular enough that you can talk to other fans/share fanworks/find merch or fan merch, but sometimes you're just all alone with your side-blorbo.

Careful what you wish for.

There are some fandoms out there with not great main characters, so most of the fandom focus (fic, art, discussion, etc.) is on the supporting characters. I can think of mains that are self-righteous, toxic, dull, and/or selfish in all the worst ways. I won't mention any particular main character names because while much of fandom does focus on other characters, some do have their fans that get defensive (which, yeah, I get defensive when someone criticizes my faves). But whatever just came into your head, yeah, probably.

I don't! I'm very happy in Supporting Character Corner, it's cosy and I'm afraid of bigass tentacular Popular Main Character spaces, that is hell for me.
