I saw 'Titanic' with my grandmother on Valentine's Day. She leaned over to me during the drawing scene and hissed, "this is a bad movie!"

A few years later, I went with my aunt to see 'The Matrix Reloaded.' There are many scenes in that one during which we both sat stock still, staring straight ahead, not acknowledging one another. We didn't talk about the movie once it ended.

Those moments, however, pale in comparison to the intense awkwardness you must have felt during those 15 minutes. I am sorry.

On the plus side, you got a funny story out of it.

Ah, is Matrix Reloaded the one with the orgy sequence? I went to see that in the theater with my stepdad. Awkward times.

AYRT

Yup, it sure is. Along with a scene of a woman being given an orgasm via cake.

Lol, these are great movies-you-shouldn't-watch-with-family stories. My best ones were seeing Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with my Eastern European great aunt, and seeing Belle Epoch with her and my grandmother, lol -- both in the theater. Fortunately my great aunt was chill about it and thought the Temple of Doom was dumb but hilarious.
