Yeah, there's not a whole lot of critical media analysis these days. Even here in F!S, the ability to understand what is literally said is iffy, much less understanding implications.

I mean, some of the movies did very much have themes and make a point (Iron Man 1 and 3, Captain America, Captain America 2, Black Panther). Unfortunately these movies got fewer and fewer amid bland extruded product and the more interesting parts of them and also of the assorted TV series got eliminated as you say. WandaVision is a fine example of one that started well and was very interesting, then the whole second half got turned into extruded Marvel product (TM). Ms Marvel in the final episode, too.
