It never fails to surprise me how weirdly defensive and aggressive some fans get whenever first person narration is criticised. "I leapt to defend this great wrong, 'it is the best and nothing else is acceptable,' I demanded they accept this obvious fact!".

Idk, I don't even like first person but I see "first person narration is the absolute WORST and I demand everyone agrees to this obvious fact" much more often. The hatred some people have for first person is borderline insane sometimes.

But... literally nobody here has jumped in claiming that 1st person is the only acceptable POV?

I have literally never seen this happen. Only the opposite (people flooding in to dunk on first person POV).

Either oddly unusual experience, or Troll Level: Medium, flip the commonly held position so that people will argue against it. From the sheer vehemence in the original secret thread, I'd give it a 50/50 odds of success. We'll see!
